Free Community BBQ was a big hit!
We held a Free Community BBQ on Monday, July 28th & it was a great success! We had a blast serving 56 people, over twice the amount of people we served at our first free community dinner in April!
A special thank you to Dave Hendricks for taking the helm and guiding us all. We also want to thank everyone who helped in so many various ways! From turning the worship space into a parish hall & back again, making potato and macaroni salads, purchasing condiments, rolls, drinks and whatever else was needed, cooking burgers and dogs on the grill graciously loaned from Hayes Ace Hardware, greeting guests or manning the various stations; none of this would have been possible without all of you! So Thank you!
Look for the next FREE community dinner in October.
Art in the Park was a great success this year. Under the wise counsel of our veteran organizer Tom Stone, and also veteran purchaser Patsy Bradshaw, Nancy Gilpatrick worked with over 25 volunteers to make this a fun day for our parishioners and for the community. We brought in over $1400 which will go toward our various outreach programs.
As every year, there are changes and things we did well, and ways we can improve. The rain held off until we were finished, and prayers were answered. The food was amazing as always with many bakers, different types of wraps, Elna's amazing vegan mix and new gluten free options. It was a test trial for the vanilla extract we are producing under Eileen's guidance, We sold out all the bottles before noon. We added a dog station this year with water and treats for visiting dogs. Steve was great at teaching the visiting dogs new tricks and this was very well received. We gave out freebies to those who needed them, and there were a lot of laughs as we worked together to complete the event. Thank you so much to all those who participated.
St. Peter's Vanilla Extract
The first batch of St. Peter's Episcopal Church Vanilla Extract is now aging thanks to the good work of Eileen Burke, Nancy Gilpatrick, Nancy Keith-Maki, Barbara Collins, Jennifer McClure, Joan Lewis, and Pat Bradshaw.
The extract will be for sale at Art in the Park and Ladies Weekend Out, as well as other outlets.
We may be small, but we are mighty at St. Peter's Episcopal Church and tonight we pulled off an incredible FREE Multicultural Potluck Supper for the community. Thank you to all the parishioners who created the entrees and desserts, transformed the sanctuary into a parish hall, prepped and served the food, loaded TO-GO trays for those who wished to take some goodies home, and then cleaned up. And thank you to Reverend Annette for leading the meal with prayer.
Fun at the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
